Description
This plus-size 1950s dress in navy blue rayon crepe is trimmed with ultra-feminine, white lace ruffles at its scoop neckline. The cap sleeve bodice has both diagonal and vertical darts for shaping the bust. A sweet navy velvet bow and rhinestone circle trim accent the center front neckline. Below the fitted waist seam, the skirt has many gored panels to create its moderately full silhouette. The semi-sheer rayon crepe fabric is unlined, so you may want a slip underneath. The dress fastens with a metal zipper in the side seam.
The true vintage, 1950s dress is relatively short-waisted (see length from underarm to waist seam), best for approximately a modern size XL petite. The dress has been pinned to the mannequin in most of my photos, but in the last 2 photos it is unclipped, to better show its actual size. It is in very good condition, with 1 small mend at the center front hem and several teeny-tiny picks in the crepe fabric at the left-front waist area (see photos). I do not think either of these minor issues will be noticed when the dress is worn. The rhinestone trim and dressier crepe fabric make this an excellent day-into-evening (or work into date night) vintage dress.
