Description
A deadstock 1960s short-sleeved sheath dress in hot pink acetate jersey knit, this versatile style can go from day to evening with ease—and maybe a change of accessories! The gently hourglass-shaped dress has curved seaming from bust to waist, with cute little bows and small gathers under the partial waist seams at each side. The knee-length skirt is relatively straight, flaring out just a bit from hips to hem. Vertical darts shape the bodice and skirt in back.
The slinky, mid-weight jersey knit fabric has a bit of stretch to it (see measurements), and is unlined. It is very slightly sheer if stretched, so you may want to wear a slip underneath. The dress fastens in back with metal zipper. My last photo shows the dress unclipped from the mannequin, to give a better idea of its actual size.
Unworn with its original hangtag, the dress is in very good condition, with one minor issue: the knit fabric of the sleeves has stretched out a bit from being stored for about 60 years on a hanger. Otherwise, it looks great! The bold, bright Barbie pink color makes this 1960s sheath dress quite a standout!
