Description

This pastel green 1950s party dress with full skirt is made of lightweight, sheer organza with a floral eyelet design embroidered in white. The fitted bodice has wide straps of sheer organza, while the sweetheart bodice and skirt are lined with taffeta, which is why they appear darker and more saturated in color. The waist seam comes to a point in front, and is slightly dropped, to about 2 inches below the natural waist. The skirt has tiny gathers where it meets the fitted bodice, which has curved princess seaming in front and darts in back for shaping. The lime-green sheer organza is probably a cotton blend, while the taffeta lining is acetate. The dress fastens in back with a metal zipper. In very good condition, the dress has some very faint yellowing to the top of the straps, underarms, waist area, and lining hem, plus some very faint spots on the left front and one more noticeable spot near the left side hem (see all close-up photos). None of these are likely to be very seen when the dress is worn. This pretty as a princess 1950s party dress has been recently dry-cleaned, and is sturdy and ready to wear. My last photo shows the dress unpinned from the mannequin, to give a better idea of its actual size and shape.
