Description
This early 70s micro-mini dress was worn by the original owner to get married in 1970. How cool is that? The dress is more like tunic-length on my tall mannequin, but will definitely work as a minidress on a shorter person. Made of slinky lightweight nylon knit jersey fabric, it features a geometric print in navy blue, red, and white that almost looks like letters. The keyhole neckline has a single hook at the small collar, to be worn open or closed, as you prefer. (I have shown it both ways in my photos.) The dress has a matching sash belt. The bodice has 2 patch pockets, high up on the bust, and three-quarter-length sleeves with fitted, buttoned cuffs. The dress is unlined, and fastens down the front with pearly-white plastic buttons. It flares out slightly from bust to hem, when worn unbelted.
In very good condition, this true vintage mini dress from 1970 has some very slight discoloration/dye bleed at the seam edges of the sleeves/underarms, and 2 faint spots on the left front hip (see photos). I doubt either issue will be noticed when this cute little 70s minidress is worn.
Size: XS, probably best for petite.
- Bust: 36 inches flat, to fit best for 34 or smaller.
- Waist: 35 inches flat, intended for loose fit.
- Hips: 40 inches flat, to fit loosely for 37 max.
- Length: 29 inches form back of neck to hem.
- Underarm to hem: 21 inches.
- Shoulder to shoulder: 14.5 to 15 inches, with reasonable stretch.
- Sleeve length: 21 inches.
- Sleeve bicep width: 12 inches flat.
- Neck: 12.5 inches flat, when hooked closed.
- Sweep/skirt width at hem: 43 inches flat.
