Description
A deadstock, never worn 1960s skirt suit in bright white, this jacket and pencil skirt ensemble will be great for a summer party, or as a tailored bridal look. The lightweight ottoman ribbed fabric is blend of cotton and polyester, with an acetate lining in the jacket only. This makes the jacket appear a little bit brighter white on my mannequin, due to the 2 layers of white fabric there, instead of only 1 layer in the skirt.
The jacket closes in front with covered buttons below a cute, rounded collar. It has darts to shape the bust and waist, but it will have a slightly loose, boxy fit if worn as originally intended. It has three-quarter-length sleeves and a curved hem, ending just above the hips. The skirt has a high, fitted waistband and a more narrow, but still curvy silhouette (see measurements). It fastens with a side seam metal zipper and single button. The “pocket flaps” on the front of the jacket are decorative.
In near excellent condition, unworn, this sassy white summer suit from the 1960s has been laundered for freshness and looks great! The only issue to note is some very minor discoloration to the covered buttons, from its long storage. My last 2 photos show the jacket and skirt unpinned from the mannequin, to give a better idea of actual size.
