This spider web and roses vintage novelty print silk scarf from the late 1940s has a wonderful, round shape with scalloped edges. The bright yellow silk twill background features an aqua blue spider web design overlaid with fuchsia pink roses in full bloom, on trailing white ribbons. The white scalloped edges are hand rolled. This striking 1940s or very early 1950s silk scarf was made in occupied Japan. It is in very good condition, with a little bit of discoloration at the center of the blue web, probably along fold lines, from normal use and/or storage (see close-up photos). It has been freshly drycleaned and has no other issues to note. I am including a lot of photos of the scarf draped on my mannequin and also on a hanger, because the round shape is somewhat hard to show when it is tied. This beauty would make a lovely gift for a vintage novelty print collector!

Size: round with 34” diameter. The largest roses are 4” across. Label: Hand Rolled Edges, Pure Silk, Made in Occupied Japan (circa 1945-1952)
