Description

This 1950s cotton wrap-style day dress in checked gingham will keep you both comfy and stylish this summer! The easy-on-and-off, wrap style fastens with a single button at the back of the neck and wrap ties at the waist. (Quite similar to the mid-century cotton wrap dresses by Swirl, although this dress is unlabeled.) The blue-black and white gingham print fabric is accented with white rickrack trim at the scoop neckline, around the large patch pockets at each hip, and in large rectangle on the front side of the semi-full skirt. The cap-sleeved bodice is shaped by vertical bust darts, and the skirt has several pleats on each side in front, below the waist seam. The color of the gingham fabric was a bit hard to capture: to me, in natural light, it appears black and white, but in my photos it has a bit of a navy blue tinge, which is why I’d describe it as blue-black and white. The plain-weave, lightweight cotton is unlined. This cute cotton 1950s day dress or housedress is in excellent condition, with not flaws to note.
