Description
A deadstock early 1960s skirt suit in leaf green ribbed cotton double-knit, this hip-length jacket and pencil skirt ensemble should be comfortable on even hot summer days! The soft, mid-weight ribbed fabric is unlined. The jacket closes in front with covered buttons below a round neckline. It has darts to shape the bust, but it will have a slightly loose, boxy fit if worn as originally intended. The cardigan-style jacket has elbow-length sleeves and a straight hem ending at the hips. The pencil skirt has an elastic waistband and a more narrow shape than the jacket, but with curve-accommodating measurements (see below). It pulls on.
In excellent to mint condition, unworn, this bright green cotton 1960s summer suit has its original hangtags and looks great! The double-knit cotton fabric has no stretch, except at the elastic skirt waist. My last 2 photos show the jacket and skirt unpinned from the mannequin, to give a better idea of actual size.
