This yellow, brown and red plaid, extra large early 1950s wool scarf, shawl or wrap was made in England for export. The scarf is certainly large and wide enough to wrap around oneself like a shawl, but looks great folded in half and tied at the neck too! The lightweight woven wool is not-quite-sheer, lofty and soft, with short fringe at each end. In very good condition, the scarf has 2 small mends (mended by me—I did my best!). Gently hand-washed and hung to dry, it came out perfectly well—although of course it could be dry-cleaned instead, if you prefer. I love the cute little lamb on the label!
