This bell-sleeve 1960s dress features a bold floral print in yellow, gold, avocado green, silver-gray and peachy-pink, on a black background. The medium-weight cotton blend (probably cotton and acetate) fabric has the distinctive texture associated with 1960s vintage Hawaiian dresses and shirts, commonly referred to as barkcloth. Similar to a muumuu in silhouette (but in a shorter, knee- or midi-length), the dress is intended to have a somewhat loose fit. The bodice features a round neckline, flared short sleeves, and curved princess seaming shaping the bust and waist. The skirt is also flared, from below the loose-fitting waist to the hem. The dress is unlined and fastens with a nylon zipper in back. In very good condition, this floral print barkcloth 1960s dress has several small mends nearly hidden under the right arm in front (see close-up photo). They are unlikely to be noticed when it is worn.
