Description
This circa 1970s palm-leaf straw fedora hat has the teardrop-shaped, pinched crown and moderate brim width that are associated with the classic style. The hat is tightly woven from 100% natural palm leaves. Unlike other types of vintage straw fedoras, a genuine Guatemalan palm leaf hat can be sprayed with or immersed in water, reshaped by hand, and then left to air dry in its new shape, if needed. (Definitely remove the burgundy rayon crepe fabric band first, though!) A separate band of braided straw trim finishes the edge of the brim. The hat is unlined, aside from a black vinyl sweatband inside. It is in excellent to mint condition, appearing unworn, with no flaws to note.
