Description
The unique texture of this lilac purple 1950s nightgown is created by rows of tiny ruffles trimming the bodice and hem. The semi-sheer nylon tricot fabric is stitched into concentric rows of ruffles at the sweetheart neckline and bust. 2 more curved rows trim the ribcage, and a single row finishes the hem. The moderately fitted bodice is held up with triple skinny straps. Below the slightly raised/high waist seam, the nightgown flares gently outward. The lightweight, unlined nylon knit fabric has a slinky feel and a little bit of give to it, without being truly stretchy. The fit seems designed to be a bit loose at the natural waist (below the high waist seam), to be comfy for sleeping. My last photo shows the nightgown unclipped from the mannequin, to give a better idea of actual size.
This 1950s nylon nightgown is a lovely color! It has been freshly cleaned and is ready to wear, in excellent condition with no flaws to note.
