Description
This novelty print Hawaiian sundress from the late 1970s features a red-on-white design of the Hawaiian Islands, ships, and hibiscus flowers. The sleeveless, V-neck bodice is held up by 2 wide straps that tie at the shoulders, to adjust their length. Bust darts shape the slightly blouson bodice. The shirred elastic waist is a bit less stretchy than originally intended, but still has some give to it. The skirt section is moderately full, flared from waist to hem. The lightweight polyester and cotton blend percale fabric is unlined and just slightly sheer, so you may want a slip underneath.
In very good condition, the dress has a little bit of faint yellowing at the edges of the underarms from normal wear, plus the aforementioned issue with the waist elastic. This retro-style, late 70s dress seems designed to imitate a 1950s sundress. It is quite wearable and cute!
