Description
An off-white and candy pink daisies floral print adorns the crisp cotton fabric of this late 1940s sundress. The fitted bodice is shaped with bust darts. It has a straight neckline in front and back, held up by wide shoulder straps that adjust with ties. A matching fabric cord belt cinches the waist. Below the fitted waist seam, the skirt is semi-full—more of a “peasant” style, not as full as the skirts common a few years later in the early 1950s. The dress fastens with a metal zipper at the center back. It is unlined.
In good, sturdy and wearable condition, this true vintage, late 1940s sundress has several light marks/stains on the left front, as shown in my close-up photos. Also, the off-white portion of the print appears a little bit yellowed all over—it was probably bright white, originally. Some of the marks would be hidden by a wide belt, if you chose to wear one. This cute 1940s cotton sundress has many years of wear left in it, if you don’t mind a few small flaws! I have included 2 photos of the dress unclipped from my mannequin, to give a better idea of its actual size.
