Description
This royal blue novelty print necktie from the late 1940s or early 50s features a perfect-for-fall design rust-red and yellow pheasants with autumn leaves. The deep blue rayon satin fabric has a subtle plaid texture woven into its surface. The tie has the traditional, undyed wool interlining for shape and body, and a cream rayon taffeta lining. The tie is in very good condition. Appearing mint and unworn from the front, the tie’s lining has some yellowing from age and long storage. This should not be noticed when the tie is worn. The tie has been dry-cleaned, and has no other issues to note.
As was typical of men’s ties from the era, this bold, swing-era 1940s-50s necktie is quite wide and short, meant to pair well with higher-waisted pants and suits. The sapphire blue color is a bit unusual, and quite lovely. It would make the ideal gift for a bird-lover, or a swing dancer!
