Description
A deadstock or unworn 1950s full slip, this lovely piece of mid-century lingerie is made of white nylon satin, with wide bands of floral lace trim. Above the underbust seam in front, the slip features an embroidered triple daisy design. Tiny gathers above the underbust seam add fullness to the bodice, below the lace-trimmed sweetheart neckline. The narrow satin ribbon straps adjust with metal buckles. The slip has a (slightly raised or high) waist seam in back only. This back waist seam meets the diagonal underbust seam at the sides of the slip. The slip has a moderately narrow skirt to fit under most pencil/hourglass-shaped and full skirts and dresses, making it a very versatile style.
Never worn, the slip is in mint condition, with no flaws to note. I’d estimate that it will fit a modern size small to medium, depending on your preferred fit. It is labeled a vintage size 38. My last photo shows the slip unpinned from the mannequin. Of course, this true vintage 1950s slip is pretty enough to wear as a dress too, if you like!
